Scholarships

As part of our commitment to provide access to world-class and affordable public higher education in the area, UNH Manchester awards a series of institutional scholarships each year. The number of scholarships awarded each year is based on university funding.

In addition to the scholarships listed below, you may also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for federal grant and loan assistance.

UNH Manchester Scholarships

Degree program scholarships

There are scholarships available to students enrolled in specific programs at UNH Manchester. Amount of award varies with a maximum award of $2,000. This award is renewable each year that the recipient meets a minimum GPA of 2.8. Applications are due to the Financial Aid Office by April 1.

STEM SCHOLARSHIP

The STEM Scholarship is awarded to incoming students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). This $2,000 award is renewable each year that the recipient meets a minimum GPA of 2.8. Candidates are considered based on stated interest in chosen field, prior academic performance, involvement in STEM-related activities, engagement in school or local community and level of demonstrated need. 

Eligible majors:

Associate Degree Transfer Achievement Scholarship

Students who have completed an associate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 are eligible for this renewable, merit-based award.
  

Associate Degree Transfer Scholarship

Students transferring from an associate degree program with a 3.5 minimum GPA and 24 transferable college credits are eligible for this renewable, merit-based award.
      

FIRST AWARD

Transfer students who participated on a FIRST Robotics Competition team in high school are eligible for this renewable, merit-based award.  Application must be submitted at the time of admission to be considered. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds are awarded. The number of awards offered is determined by annual funding available. Learn more and apply.
  

Transfer Distinction Scholarship

Students transferring into a Bachelor degree program from any four year instituition with a 3.5 minimum GPA and 24 transferable college credits are eligible for this renewable, merit-based award.
   

Transfer Excellence Scholarship

Students transferring into a Bachelor degree program from any four year instituition with a 3.8 minimum GPA and 24 transferable college credits are eligible for this renewable, merit-based award.

Merit-based awards are only available to students admitted to a bachelor’s degree program, unless otherwise stated. Applicants must meet the admission deadline to be considered, and recipients must maintain continuous full-time enrollment for renewal of the award each year.
   

21ST CENTURY UNH MANCHESTER AWARD

This renewable award is given to incoming freshmen with a well-rounded academic background who demonstrate student engagement and leadership in their high school and/or community.
      

FIRST AWARD

Incoming freshman students who participated on a FIRST Robotics Competition team in high school are eligible for this renewable, merit-based award. Learn more and apply.
    

New Hampshire Scholars Scholarship

Incoming freshman who graduated from the New Hampshire Scholars Program are eligible for this renewable award. Learn more and apply.
   

PARTNERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

Incoming freshmen who attended a partnership school and maintained a minimum GPA of 3.2 are eligible for this renewable award.
   

PRESIDENTIAL SUCCESS SCHOLARSHIP

This renewable award is for incoming freshman who graduated from high school in the top 10 percent of their class.
   

 

 

 

These awards are available to students whose FAFSA information reflects their financial need. 
  

UNH Manchester Tuition Grant

Students must file the FAFSA to be considered for this grant. The award amount varies depending on demonstrated need.
   

Academic Achievement Organization Award

This award assists students with the membership fees required to join a nationally recognized honor society.

ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIP

The amount of the award is $2,500 for full-time students and $1,250 for part-time students. The number of scholarships awarded each year will be based on University funding. To qualify, you must file your FAFSA before the March 1 deadline. Learn more and apply.

 

MAKRIS SCHOLARSHIP

The Harry P. Makris Memorial Scholarship was established for students who demonstrate academic rigor and financial need, and are interested in careers in political science, education and/or public service. The award is $1,500 for one academic year. Learn more and apply.  

Study Abroad Scholarships

UNH Manchester Study Abroad Scholarship
Eligible students must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have earned 26 or more credit hours. Submit your completed application by February 15.

Adult Student Aid Program

Funded by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, this award is given to adult, independent students with little post-high school education. Learn more here.
   

Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarships

With awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, the Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarships are available to New Hampshire residents pursuing a degree in nursing, medicine or social work, who demonstrate financial need and scholastic excellence. The mission of the Foundation for Seacoast Health is to improve the health and well-being of Seacoast residents. In keeping with this mission, awards of up to $5,000 are made to students pursuing a health-related degree who are from Portsmouth, Rye, Newcastle, Greenland, Newington or North Hampton, N.H. Hope Starts Here Scholarship

New Hampshire residents who have experienced homelessness in their school career are eligible for the Hope Starts Here Scholarship, which ranges from $500 to $2,000. Learn more and apply.
     

James H. Bradley Memorial Scholarship

Military & Veteran Scholarships

The Staff Sergeant Ryan M. Pitts ’13 Scholarship Fund provides financial support to a veteran enrolled in an undergraduate program at UNH Manchester who demonstrates involvement and leadership in the campus community. The fund was established in 2016 to recognize alumnus Ryan Pitts for his contributions both in combat and on campus.
