First Year Service Day

As a new student to UNH Manchester, you are cordially invited to our annual First Year Service Day. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet the students, faculty and staff that will surround you in your adventures at UNH Manchester, all while you are getting involved in your new community.

We will be transported as group to the Food Bank Gardens where our work will be helping supply families in need around the state with nutritional food items. Transportation back to campus will be provided as well and a complimentary lunch will be served to all volunteers. Please note that coffee and refreshments will be served in the morning.

First Year Service Day has been cancelled this year.  For more information please contact unhm.studentdevelopment@unh.edu.

At UNH, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of the surrounding community. We believe that community service builds character and integrity in students by providing an excellent opportunity to learn, make friends and have fun!

A program of New Hampshire Catholic Charities, the New Hampshire Food Bank serves as the only Food Bank in the state. Every year, the Food Bank distributes over 6.5 million pounds of donated, surplus food to 412 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, day care centers, and senior citizen homes. These registered agencies in turn provide the food to over 127, 200 men, women and children throughout New Hampshire each year.

To help support the Food Bank and its mission to provide families in need in the state of New Hampshire, we are asking all participants of First Year Service Day if they would kindly bring with them a can of food. Any item donated will be greatly appreciated by the Food Bank.
