The Public Pathways Program allows students to seamlessly transition an associate degree at a N.H. community college into a bachelor's degree at UNH Manchester. We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions below to help you understand the program, and find out if it's the right path for you.

What are the benefits?

  • Pay one application fee to CCSNH, no fee paid to UNH
  • Receive specialized academic advising at your community college
  • Earn credits that will apply to both the associate degree and a UNH bachelor’s degree
  • Complete community college courses that satisfy or prepare you for the UNH Discovery Program (gen eds) or specific major requirements
  • Experience the Wildcat community with invitations to academic, athletic, cultural, and social events throughout the academic year (U-Day, campus events, baseball and hockey games, etc.)
  • Transition to UNH Manchester by submitting an “intent-to-enroll” form. No transfer application or fee required
  • Guaranteed admission at UNH with completion of your AA or AS degree and a cumulative 2.5 grade point average
  • Eligibility for merit scholarships if you meet scholarship GPA requirements

As a qualified student in the Public Pathways Program, you are automatically reserved a seat at UNH Manchester while you earn your associate degree. As you seamlessly move from your two-year experience, you will find your academic opportunities get broader at UNH Manchester.

Our Public Pathways Program and the Dual Admission Program allow you to create an academic pathway for a seamless transition from the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) to a program at UNH Manchester.

The main difference in the program is that we have provided a very detailed path for your two-year experience so your credits will transfer in the most efficient way possible. There are no surprises when you transfer credits and are ready to start courses at UNH Manchester.

CCSNH graduates contribute a great deal to college life here as well as gain much from their experience. We are here to help you continue on the path of academic and career success!

The Public Pathways Program was created to ensure all NH community college students have access to affordable higher education. Participation in the program means you will follow a seamless academic pathway from your community college to UNH Manchester.

Since the pathway is specific to the program you want to pursue at UNH Manchester, your community college credits are guaranteed to count toward your bachelor’s degree, saving you time and money.

Another important benefit are the scholarship opportunities – you start building your college transcript and academic achievements at your community college which can lead to scholarship opportunities not only at your community college but at UNH Manchester as well!

Absolutely! The Public Pathways Program is designed as a “2 + 2”, meaning the academic pathway you choose begins at your community college for the first two years after which you transition to UNH Manchester for your junior and senior years.

The four-year degree is your starting point for professional school, graduate school and the world of work.

People are proud of their alma maters — and alumni connections and networking through the campus career services office will be invaluable to you when you start your career.

  1.  Review our list of current Pathways to determine which program is the best path for you.
  2.  Apply to your local NH community college and indicate on the application that you would like to enroll in the Public Pathways/ Dual Admission Program with the University of New Hampshire at Manchester.
  3. Meet with a community college advisor to learn more about the program.
  4. Sign a Public Pathways/Dual Admission Program contract that confirms your agreement to comply with the program requirements.
  5. Receive an acceptance letter into the Public Pathways/Dual Admission Program from the community college and UNH Manchester.
