The intention of the Early Alert System (EAS) is to inform students of their professor’s concerns and to introduce them to some helpful resources. Alerts are geared towards notifying students who are not making satisfactory progress and/or are exhibiting behaviors that may lead to academic difficulty, such as poor attendance or participation.
If a professor completes an Early Alert form, the student is notified through the mail. If a student receives an alert, it is strongly recommended that the student ACTS RIGHT AWAY by contacting their professor to discuss the alert and to utilize recommended on-campus resources.
The Early Alert System is in place beginning the 3rd week of classes until mid-semester in an effort to encourage students to seek out support and to proactively work toward academic success.
