Spurring from her love for music, Angela launched her own music blog, Infectious Magazine, while she was a student. She said her advisor and professors encouraged her to following her creative passions.
I found myself in the right courses with the right teachers who understood me and my style of writing, and were encouraging.
Infectious Magazine was still going strong, and Angela even brought interns on to help with the workload. But it wasn't paying the bills, so she bounced around to a few office jobs — but they left her unhappy and unfulfilled. She decided to make her own path: She began a trial run as a music publicist, using the industry contacts she made through her blog as a jumping off point.
Angela's growing network, industry experience and passion to help artists proved successful — she officially launched her own music publicity firm, Muddy Paw PR, in 2014. She's currently focused on catapulting growth of her business and starting chapters of Balanced Breakfast, meetups for musicians and industry professionals, in cities across the U.S. and Canada.
In March of 2016, she accomplished one of the goals on her five-year plan in just two years: presenting on a panel at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
