Event: 4-H Science Bonanza at STEM Discovery Lab, Dec. 7
Tired of cartoons on Saturday morning? Control a VEX robot, build a hydroponic garden, sample maple syrup, meet some goats and more at the 3rd Annual 4-H Science Bonanza on Saturday, December 7.
The Science Bonanza is a free, one-day event offering fun science workshops to youth ages 4-13 and a 4-H Science Expo that provides participants an opportunity to learn about science opportunities in 4-H and at the STEM Discovery Lab at UNH Manchester.
Attendance is free and includes lunch. Participants can choose from a variety of hourlong workshops in the following topic areas:
- Maker/Engineering: Imagine, Design, Build and Share anything. This track is about creativity and exploring different design and building techniques, materials and mediums. It is about learning new skills and sharing the results of your efforts.
- AgriScience (plant and animal science): How do plants grow? How do I keep my animals healthy? This track is about the science behind agriculture and includes understanding livestock and pets as well as growing and caring for flowers and vegetables
- Ecology/Environment: Exploring our natural world is so exciting and there is so much to learn! Play with water, dissect owl pellets, explore maple syrup. As you understand the world around you, you begin to see how we are all connected!
