UNH Manchester students in downtown Manchester

Summer is around the corner, and there's no better time to schedule college visits. If you're coming to UNH Manchester for a campus tour, stick around and enjoy all our city has to offer. New restaurants, shops and businesses continue to pop up downtown, joining old favorites like The Palace Theatre and the Millyard Museum. There's no shortage of things to do, foods to eat and places to explore. Here are a few things you could check out:

1. Get your culture fix at the Currier Museum of Art.

The Currier features an array of art installations from paintings to decorative arts, photographs and sculptures. You can also hop on the bus tour to two local homes built by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

2. Scale the walls at Vertical Dreams.

Just a few doors down from UNH Manchester, Vertical Dreams boasts the state’s tallest climbing wall with top roping, lead climbing, bouldering and routes for all abilities.

3. Check out the SEE Science Center

The SEE Science Center is steps from campus and features hands-on exhibits exploring light, electricity, machinery and more. It’s also home to the LEGO Millyard Project, a replica of Manchester’s millyard which holds the Guinness World Record for the largest permanent LEGO installation at minifigure scale in the world.

4. Hike or bike around Lake Massabesic.

The Massabesic Audubon Center is just minutes from downtown Manchester and is bordered by 130 acres of recreation land. There are more than five miles of trails that lead to Lake Massabesic, great for hiking or picnicking.

5. Walk, eat, repeat.

Arguably the best part about Manchester: the food scene. Indian, Thai, American, Greek, Italian — there is something for all tastes, right within walking distance from campus.
