Susanne Paterson teaches a variety of courses, including Shakespeare, Survey of British literature, Early Drama, and English Grammar. Dr. Paterson's research interests and academic publications are varied, and include work in conduct literature and English Renaissance drama, film studies, and information literacy. She and her colleague at UNH Manchester Library, Professor Carolyn White, have published a number of articles on the teaching of information literacy.

Dr. Paterson has won numerous teaching awards, including the UNH Manchester Teaching Excellence Award in 2001 and again in 2009. She loves to teach, particularly at UNH Manchester, where the students are hard-working, motivated, and curious, and where the small classroom-setting allow her to give each student her individual attention.
