If you’re interested in advancing or changing your career, fulfilling prerequisites for further education, completing bachelor’s degree requirements at another institution or just developing new skills, UNH Manchester has a path for you. As a non-degree student, you have access to our extensive course offerings without having to formally apply to a degree program.

Credit Courses


Whether you’re in search of professional advancement, a career change or skills in a new area of expertise, UNH Manchester offers an array of courses that non-degree students may be able to apply to a bachelor’s degree program at another institution. Non-degree students are limited to no more than 11 credits (usually two four-credit courses). Undergraduate continuing education costs $471/credit for New Hampshire residents and $532/credit for non-residents.

Course Audits


Auditing a course gives you the benefit of learning about a topic or program of study without having to complete class assignments or exams. Audited courses cannot be counted toward a degree, so it’s a great option for those who wish to pursue an area of interest without intending to enroll in a program. Granted at the discretion of the instructor on a space-available basis, credit courses may be audited at the rate of $100 per credit plus the mandatory semester fees and any other required course fees.

Professional Development


Enhance your professional skills with one-day workshops, conferences, special institutes and short-term certificate programs from UNH Professional Development & Training. Over 250 workshops and seminars are offered throughout the year in Manchester, Durham, Portsmouth and online. On-site customized training is also available to companies, schools and organizations. Registration is ongoing.

Non-Degree Programs and Graduate Certificates


Data Science Graduate Certificate: This fully online program exposes students to current, cutting edge algorithms, coding languages, statistical modeling and visualization tools through guided, online instruction and applied case studies.

Health Professions Program: Designed for students who have a bachelor's degree, the Health Professions program at UNH Manchester prepares you to pursue graduate study in various health fields.

Public Health Graduate Certificate: Advance your career in public or community health with our flexible public health certificate program offered at the Manchester campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

You do not need to apply as a non-degree student! However, if you want to take credit-bearing courses, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated successful academic performance
  • Successful completion of all course prerequisites
  • Not currently under disciplinary sanctions from UNH, another college or university, or court-ordered probation or other sanctions

*The University reserves the right to restrict registration to those who can demonstrate the completion of the above requirements and to bar registration or withdraw a student who upon request fails to provide proper documentation or who demonstrates unacceptable performance once enrolled.

Registrations are accepted through any of the following methods. Payment is expected at the time of registration. Please contact The Business Office for billing information.

  • Email: Download or print the registration form and complete all items. If you do not know your UNH ID number, see Find Your ID Number. Email your completed form to unhm.registration@unh.edu.
  • Online: Online registration is not available to first-time registrants. New students must initially register by email, mail, fax or in person. Individuals with a MyUNH account may register for classes online through WebCat (click here for instructions). If you have forgotten your username or password, please visit the login help tab or call the UNH IT Help Desk at (603) 862-4242.
