Professor Anthony Tenczar teaches digital video production, motion picture aesthetics, audio production and documentary film. He is an award-winning documentary and experimental filmmaker, who has also been recognized for his television and audio work. Before his teaching career, he worked professionally in television production and management.
Tenczar's media work has been recognized and exhibited by regional, national and international film/media festivals and competitions including: South by Southwest Film Festival, The Ann Arbor Film Festival, Syracuse International Film & Video Festival, New York Exposition of Short Film and Video, VIDEOEX Festival (Zurich, Switzerland), CINE, Chicago International Film Festival, New England Film & Video Festival, Potenza Film Festival (Italy), Evolution Film Festival (UK), Lucca Film Festival (Italy), Columbus International Film Festival, Great Plains Film Festival, CinemaTexas Short Film Festival, International Media Festival on Disabilities, Prized Pieces Film Festival, Cable Ace Awards, Hometown Video Festival, Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts Faculty Awards, University Film and Video Association Faculty Awards and the National Educational Film & Video Festival.
Before joining the UNH faculty , Tenczar had faculty appointments at Ithaca College and the University of Texas, Austin. He is also interested in community-based media. Tenczar is a former Chair of the Board of Directors of Concord Community Television and currently serves on several advisory boards for high school video production programs in New Hampshire.
Professor Tenczar has been a recipient of the UNH Manchester Teaching Excellence Award.
