UNDERSTANDING YOUR STUDENT’S PATH TO GRADUATION
Major Requirements
These courses form the core of your student’s academic experience, focusing on the specific knowledge and skills needed for their chosen field. Each major has a set curriculum designed to build expertise and prepare students for careers or further study.
Capstone Experience
Students must also complete a capstone experience, typically within their major, during their senior year. These courses prepare students to think critically and communicate effectively, culminating in the practical application of the skills they have gained throughout their programs.
Discovery Program
The Discovery Program is UNH’s general education curriculum designed to provide students with a broad foundation of knowledge and essential skills. These courses are required across all programs. You can learn more about the Discovery Program here.
Minors, Study Away and Elective Credits
Elective credits give students the flexibility to explore interests beyond their major, pursue a minor, or participate in unique opportunities like study away programs. These experiences allow students to broaden their knowledge, develop new skills, and tailor their education to align with their goals.
GPA & Total Credits
Students must meet minimum GPA standards and earn enough credits to graduate, ensuring they achieve both depth in their major and breadth across disciplines. You can review degree requirements here.
