Frequently Asked Questions

You will need to know your student ID number, and if you plan to get a UNH Manchester parking permit, you will need your car registration.  Other than that, just bring yourself! We’re looking forward to seeing you

Parking Permit

If you plan to park on campus, you need to have a parking permit provided by UNH Manchester security. To receive your parking permit, you will need your UNH student ID number and your vehicle registration. Our security officers will let you know what you need to do and you’ll be able to leave with your parking permit in hand.

Student ID

All students need to have a student ID to print on campus and to receive a fob to enter the building. You should have received an email to your UNH inbox with the steps to complete this process, but if you did not, you can visit this link to upload your student ID photo. Your student ID may take a few weeks to arrive at the UNH Manchester campus, which is why we recommend doing this as soon as possible so you can receive it on Wildcat Welcome Day.

Building Fob

All students are required to have a building fob to access the UNH Manchester building. To receive your fob, you need to have a valid UNH student ID, which can be picked up at Wildcat Welcome Day.  Students who do not complete the student ID process over the summer will not receive a fob on Wildcat Welcome Day and will have to visit security at the beginning of the semester to get one.

Students should plan to be on campus for about one hour

While we love that our students have individuals supporting them through their college journey, Wildcat Welcome Day is only for incoming first-year and transfer students – no guests, please!

Yes! You should still come to Wildcat Welcome Day, even if you cannot make the designated time slot. We still want to make sure you feel prepared and ready for the semester to start!

Lunch will not be provided at Wildcat Welcome Day, but don’t worry – we will still have some exciting treats available for you!

First, don’t get stressed. We understand that everyone has a busy life. If you are unable to attend Wildcat Welcome Day, you will need to make sure you find time during your first week of classes to stop by security to obtain your parking permit, fob to enter the building, and your student ID. You will also need to make sure you’ve paid your bill and completed any required forms. Campus staff, faculty, and student workers are great resources to utilize if you have questions.  If you would like a tour of the building, you can contact our admissions team at unhm.admissions@unh.edu.
