First Year Student Orientation
UNH Manchester orientation leaders

New Student Orientation is your chance to get to know UNH’s campus, enroll in fall classes, and build connections with fellow new students, as well as faculty and staff. Our hope is that you leave June Orientation feeling excited and ready to begin your Wildcat journey! Parents, family members, and other guests will also have the opportunity to participate in an UNH Manchester Orientation that runs concurrently with New Student Orientation.

Fall Orientation Information

First Year Orientation Date and Time

First-year student orientation is on Tuesday, June 23.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the program runs through 4:30 p.m.

Parents, family members, and guests are invited to participate in their own separate UNH Manchester orientation that will run until 1:15 p.m.

If you plan to live on campus through our partnership with Southern New Hampshire University's Residential Life, please note that there will be a mandatory housing information session at Southern New Hampshire University immediately after the official orientation program. More information with details about the session will be sent to your UNH email.

How to Register

Registration for New Student Orientation launches mid-spring. All students who have deposited will receive an invitation to register via email once the Orientation Registration Portal is live.

Schedule at a Glance

REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Students will have the opportunity to meet with our advisors, learn about UNH’s course selection process, and select fall semester classes. Students will leave orientation with their completed fall-semester course schedules in hand.

MEET FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

Throughout the day, students will get to connect with other first-year students. Thanks to our partnership with The Browne Center, students will have plenty of opportunities to learn more about their peers and begin forming friendships that can be built upon in the fall.

LEARN ABOUT CAMPUS RESOURCES

At New Student Orientation, students will have the opportunity to learn more about UNH Manchester’s campus resources and supports. Students will connect with departments such as the Library, Career and Professional Success, and the Office of Student and Community Engagement, as well as with some of our resources, including the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester and the SHARPP Center.

VISIT CAMPUS HOUSING AT SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY

This applies only to students who plan to reside at Southern New Hampshire University.

Students registered to live in student housing through our partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) are required to attend a housing information session following the official orientation program. At SNHU, students will learn more about what it’s like to live there and receive a campus tour. Check your UNH email before orientation for more information regarding this session.

Student Housing

UNH Manchester has partnered with Southern New Hampshire University to offer housing at SNHU, located less than five miles away from our campus. Residence halls offer spacious rooms, secure entry, lounge spaces, laundry facilities, dining plans and more.

We encourage you to review the academic guide for your program of study, which provides information on courses you may need to take, as well as placement tests required for some areas of study.
