Profile
Professor Marcotte began his professional career at Bell Laboratories including 13 years as a “Distinguished Member of Technical Staff” (DMTS). He was there a total of 41 years. Although educated as an electrical and computer engineer, his professional experience spanned many disciplines including analog and digital circuit development, systems architect, project management, and data communications. He ended his Bell Labs career in Supply Chain Management and worked closely with teams in North America, Europe and Asia.
While still working at Bell Labs, Professor Marcotte was an adjunct professor in the EE department at Merrimack College and at NHTI in Concord. After retiring from Bell Labs, he worked 9 years as Program Coordinator and Professor at Nashua Community College in the EET and Computer Engineering department until May 2021.
Education
Don earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from U Mass-Lowell.
Interests
Professor Marcotte is a high school and college basketball referee. In addition, he officiates basketball games for Special Olympics having refereed Olympic tournament games in Los Angeles, Seattle, Iowa, Nebraska, China, Greece, and Ireland.
